Founder & Administrative Team Member & Pre-Kindergarten Teacher since July 1970
Mrs. Riveros, the founder of Les Enfants, has been in the business of educating young children for 36 years, but the passion for teaching began many years before that. Around 1957 she first discovered the Montessori method and realized that this method was the only method that mattered as it was the most efficient. It is the method that encompasses all facets of the child’s early life and prepares them for all future endeavors. But it was not until 1980 that the opportunity to open her own school arose and Les Enfants was born.
Mrs. Riveros, in the capacity of headmaster, gives all head teachers leeway in their classrooms in regards to curriculum, but has final say on all matters of education at Les Enfants. Over the past 3 decades she has accumulated an arguably unique quantity of Montessori Materials, updating them as the times change and the method develops.
Her passion for education and her love for all the children that pass through her doors is immediately evident. Her overall mantra is this, ‘there is only one time in life where you can properly prepare future men and women and that is in early childhood. If you can do a great job then, the child’s positive future is virtually assured. The Montessori Method is the way to accomplish this.’
Samantha D'Alonzo, Director
It has been my pleasure teaching children from Toddlers to Elementary for the last 15 years, having had the opportunity to watch them grow and develop into competent, capable, well adjusted young adults.
As educational director, I along with Mrs. Riveros, oversee the classroom operations, working with the teachers and staff reviewing and developing lesson plans that will be incorporated into the curriculum.
My oldest child, having gone through Les Enfants from 18mos thru 3rd grade was able to truly embody all that our school has to offer from the very strong academic program to the extra curriculars, showing first hand how well this method within our program is and how well prepared are students are once they leave us and move on.
